registration for Rally dell'Umbria 2024 is closed
Every year, Moto Club Umbria feels sorry for the many who would have liked to but were unable to register... every year, a few registrants are forced to give up, unable to participate, and so we open a sort of "waiting list", through which we will gradually inform those who were not able to register immediately about the availability of places 'left vacant'. this is not a promise, but if you want, leave us an email address to be contacted!
Rally dell'Umbria is the culmination of all the experiences gathered by Moto Club Umbria in its 20 years of direct organisations, collaborations and participation in events of other organisations.
Rally dell’Umbria starts in the magnificent setting of the Historical Centre of Perugia towards the discovery of the most beautiful and characteristic corners of UmbriaThe motorbike is 'the perfect companion' to find these often difficult to reach, almost always unknown places.
From the heart of the splendid and ancient city that is Perugia Rally of the Umbria develops in three daily stages totalling approximately 900 km (traced from scratch each year) that we like to think of as an immersive experience in which the motorbike produces the discovery of forests, hills, high-altitude clearings, in which at times they brush against each other, human landscapes full of history. Villages, towns, abbeys, parish churches and settlements testify to the millenary and respectful love of humans for this land.
The Umbria Rally has a deliberate touristic intent: thehe roads chosen are almost all unpaved or secondary roadsso that the discovery is never demanding and to allow participants a relaxed and pleasant, non-superficial journey through the landscape.
Since 2000, the Umbria Rally has been held in April, in the season when the spring awakening brings out the wild nature of the Umbria: the mild temperatures and the ever-changing road surface enhance the pleasure of riding, the essence of the all-terrain bike.
useful information
Rally of the Umbria is a non-competitive, touring motorbike rally raid that takes place in three one-day stages totalling approximately 800 km.
In 13 editions it has gained an international reputation, bringing participants from all over Europe to Umbria.
Umbria Rally traditionally takes place in three daily 'daisy-chain' stages starting and ending in the historic centre of Perugia.
In the afternoon of Thursday 1 May 2025 the secretariat of motorbike club Umbria is open for the Preliminary Operations.
on 2, 3 and 4 May 2025, the three one-day stages take place.
Rally dell'Umbria takes place almost entirely on natural surface roadsmore or less frequented.
The roads, although not very busy, are open to traffic and from time to time you can meet other users of the landscapeon foot, on horseback, on a motorbike or on a tractor... we share the landscape, enjoy safely.
The three daily stages are designed to be very different from each other, running through practically the entire region, crossing hilly and mountainous landscapes: hence a very variable 'road' surface, ranging from the stony terrain of the high altitudes to the damp undergrowth.
The technically more challenging sectors are alternative variants to the main routeare always optional and only cover a few kilometres of the daily route.
Rally dell'Umbria, we never tire of saying it, is a tourist event open to anyone who has the desire to discover a magnificent region on their all-terrain motorbike.
An adventure that can be experienced in a group as well as in the solitude of those who want space to immerse themselves in the landscape and their thoughts.
No matter what your previous experience is, the only recommendation is to enjoy your time, to measure your strengths, just because the three stages are long.
'the best bike is the one you choose', that's what the Moto Club Umbria believes!
Rally dell'Umbria involves around 900 km of dirt roads, and for this you need a suitable and reliable motorbike with which you are (or want to become) familiar.
There are no 'categories', we do not believe in exclusive formulas based on more or less questionable parameters (e.g. minimum weight).
Rally dell'Umbria is open to all off-road motorbikesfrom the ultra-modern multi-cylinder maxienduro to the 125 cc, from the old glories of the 1980s to specialised enduros and mountain bikes (e.g. Beta Alps have always been present).
What is required? We will clarify this in the next box: fittings and equipment!
Bikes
- No obligations (but highly recommended!) non-specialised tread tyresnow produced in many sizes by all major manufacturers.
- Autonomy of at least 100 kmto go from one filling station to the next without any worries.
- A general overhaul before the start of the adventure because thereliability is guaranteed.
- A few small spare parts, such as a couple of inner tubes, fuses, light bulbs...
Pilot
- Technical clothing that is also protective against the temperature: arriving at high altitudes, a thermal jersey can be useful, approved protectors protect against minor abrasions, boots provide safety when driving, a waterproof jacket with a few pockets allows you to keep a compact camera at hand at all times!
- A second pair of gloves and a motocross visor: being closer to the eyes, it disturbs the view less than the classic helmet visor in dusty or rainy conditions. A waterproof suit.
The Umbria's 850 km of rallies can be traced through two instruments:
Moto Club Umbria has made every activity revolve around the paper road-bookfirmly believing that it is a further stimulus for knowledge and interpretation of the landscape.
To make road-rook navigation more accessible, a version of the Umbria Rally (2023) is available from the 12th .pdf of the road-book navigable via Android device (here our guide)
Alternatively, you can follow the route via GPS track, provided by the organisation during Preliminary Operations in .GPX format, compatible with specific devices (navigators) or with the app Navirally.
On Thursday 1 May, during the preliminary operations in the Moto Club Umbria Secretariat, paper road books will be handed out and there will be several loading stations for navigators compatible with the GPX format (Garmin).
There it will also be possible to request individual track sharing for navigation on other apps than Navirally.
The fun and pleasure of discovery cannot be spoilt by complex and cerebral rigmarole.
As Moto Club Umbria we have made sure that everything is streamlined and agile, but three things are essential:

Perugia is a big city and for hospitality it offers a wide range, from the camper van pitch to the 5-star hotel.
In a wide range of possibilities, everyone can find their own solution, and the Moto Club Umbria feels able to give just one piece of advice:
The Centro Storico is wonderful, lively in the evenings and full of interesting food and wine venues: if you arrive in Perugia directly by motorbike, we really recommend staying in the centre.
The historic centre, stratified from the Etruscan age to the Renaissance, is on a human scale, welcoming to motorbikes but the 'enemy' of vans and trolleys: if you come to Perugia on four or six wheels, stay just outside the centre and move around by motorbike!
Hotel conventions 2025 are still to be activated!
If you are travelling in a motor homein Perugia there is an equipped car park at the foot of the historic centre:
Best Western Hotel Perugia Quattrotorri
We are pleased to grant participants a discount on all room types present: Economy, Comfort, Superior
For stays up to 3 nights: discount of 15%, por stays of 4 nights or more: discount of 20% by direct, telephone or web booking to www.hotelquattrotorriperugia.com
