16th edition - 29 April to 2 May 2027
what is Rally Umbria
The Umbria Rally is the culmination of all the experience gathered by the Moto Club Umbria in its 20 years of direct organisation, cooperation and participation in other organisations’ events. In 15 editions it has gained an international reputation and brings participants from all over Europe to Umbria.
The Umbria Rally is deliberately designed for tourists, with motorcycles serving as a means of exploring and discovering forests, hills and high-altitude clearings, where at times you brush past and at others encounter human landscapes steeped in history. Villages, towns, abbeys, parish churches and settlements bear witness to humanity's age-old and respectful love for this land.
Since 2000, the Umbria Rally has been held in April, in the season when the spring awakening brings out the wild nature of the Umbria: the mild temperatures and the ever-changing road surface enhance the pleasure of riding, the essence of the all-terrain bike.
the three-stage route
The three daily stages are designed in a “daisy” pattern, starting and ending in the splendid and ancient heart of the city of Perugia.
The total distance of 750 km is divided into three very different stages, almost entirely on unpaved roads, covering practically the entire Umbria region.
The terrain varies greatly, from rocky high altitudes to damp undergrowth.
The most technically challenging sections are alternative routes to the main route. They are always optional and only cover a few kilometres of the daily route.
The Umbria Rally is a tourist event that takes place on roads that, although not very busy, are open to traffic and from time to time you may encounter other users of the landscape: on foot, on horseback, on motorbikes or on tractors... let's share the landscape and enjoy it safely.
The Rider and the Motorcycle
We believe that the Umbria Rally embodies the essence of adventuring, offering an experience that can be enjoyed in a group or in solitude for those who want space to immerse themselves in the landscape and their own thoughts.
No matter what your previous experience is, the only recommendation is to enjoy your time to the fullest and pace yourself, simply because the three stages are long.
To tackle around 750 km of dirt roads, you need a suitable and reliable motorbike that you are (or want to become) confident riding.
About motorcycles... at Moto Club Umbria, we believe that “the best motorcycle is the one you choose,” and that's why The Umbria Rally is open to all on-road and off-road motorcycles.: from the ultra-modern multi-cylinder maxi-enduro to the 125 cc, passing through the old glories of the 1980s to the specialised enduro and mountain bikes (for example, the Beta Alp has always been present).
Equipment
Bikes
- No obligations (but highly recommended!) non-specialised tread tyresnow produced in many sizes by all major manufacturers.
- Autonomy of at least 120 km, to travel from one refuelling station to another without any worries.
- A general service before the adventure begins because the’reliability is guaranteed.

- A second pair of gloves and a motocross visor: being closer to the eyes, it disturbs the view less than the classic helmet visor in dusty or rainy conditions. A waterproof suit.
Navigation, Road book, GPS
For twenty years, Moto Club Umbria has been focusing all its activities on paper road-book, firmly believing that it is a further stimulus for understanding and interpreting the landscape.
Our roadbooks are hand-drawn, with 100-metre intervals, and are available in Italian and German.
To make navigation on road-rook more accessible, a version will be available from the 12th edition of the Rally dell'Umbria (2023). .pdf of the road-book navigable via Android or iOS device (here our guide) only via the Navirally App.
Alternatively, you can follow the route using the GPS track provided by the organisation during the Preliminary Operations in .GPX format, compatible with specific devices (navigators) or always with the app Navirally.
On Thursday 29 April, during the preliminary operations in the Moto Club Umbria Secretariat, paper road books will be handed out and there will be several loading stations for navigators compatible with the GPX format (Garmin).
At that point, it will also be possible to request individual sharing of .gpx files to navigate on apps other than Navirally.
Obligations
The fun and pleasure of discovery cannot be spoilt by complex and cerebral rigmarole.
As with Moto Club and Umbria, we have ensured that everything is streamlined and agile, but some recommendations are essential:

The constant reminder that we are guests on this earth, on these roads.- be in compliance with the highway code
- Having the UISP membership card 2027 type A or higher (if you don't have it, you can find it included free of charge with registration).
- Attend the event with a certificate of good healthvalid medical certificate issued by a general practitioner for non-competitive sporting activity. This is essential for all CONI-accredited events, including, of course, the Umbria Rally. Failure to present the certificate will result in the participant being excluded from the event.

hospitality
Perugia is a large city and offers a wide range of accommodation options, from camper van sites to 5-star hotels.
In a wide range of possibilities, everyone can find their own solution, and the Moto Club Umbria feels able to give just one piece of advice:
The Centro Storico is wonderful, lively in the evenings and full of interesting food and wine venues: if you arrive in Perugia directly by motorbike, we really recommend staying in the centre.
The historic centre, layered from the Etruscan age to the Renaissance, is people-friendly, welcoming to motorcycles but hostile to vans and carts: if you come to Perugia on four or six wheels, stay just outside the centre and move around by motorbike!
If you are travelling in a motor home, In Perugia, there is a well-equipped car park at the foot of the historic centre: www.boveperugia.com
The 2027 hotel conventions are, of course, still to be defined!
Registration for Rally dell'Umbria 2026 is now open!
Registration for the XV Rally dell'Umbria 2026 opened on 8 December and closed within 48 hours due to reaching capacity.
Every year, Moto Club Umbria feels sorry for the many who would have liked to but were unable to register... every year, a few registrants are forced to give up, unable to participate, and so we open a sort of "waiting list", through which we will gradually inform those who were not able to register immediately about the availability of places 'left vacant'. this is not a promise, but if you want, leave us an email address to be contacted!
on navigation
As you will have seen, we believe that navigation via Navirally, and thus Android deviceis a great opportunity to try and as an incentive we offer two 15% discount codeswhich you will receive in your registration confirmation email.
